How to crop an image to an exact region
- 01
Choose the image
Select Choose file — or drop the image onto the zone — and open a PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 12 MiB, at most 8,192 pixels per side and 24,000,000 pixels in total. The signature, dimensions, and EXIF orientation are checked locally before anything renders, the standing limits are listed under the field, and the preview appears only once every check passes; nothing is uploaded at any point.
- 02
Pick an aspect ratio
Under Aspect ratio choose Free, 1:1 square, 4:3, 3:2, or 16:9. Free keeps exactly the width and height you enter, while a fixed ratio keeps the region's origin and trims the side that exceeds the proportion. Dimensions are rounded to whole pixels, so small crops can differ slightly from the nominal ratio; check the result panel for the actual size.
- 03
Set the crop region
Enter whole-pixel values in X origin, Y origin, Region width, and Region height. The origin must sit inside the image and the full region must stay within its bounds; out-of-bounds or fractional input is rejected with a message that names the problem, so you can correct the exact field instead of guessing.
- 04
Pick a format, crop, and download
Under Output format choose PNG (the default, keeps transparency), JPEG (lossy, quality 50–95%, transparency flattened onto the background color you pick), or WebP (keeps transparency; the option stays disabled when this browser cannot encode it). File size depends on the image and quality. Press Crop image. The result panel reports the exact crop, such as 640 × 480 from (10, 20), and Download saves it in the chosen format. Changing any control clears the previous export, so crop again after edits.
