How to remove extra whitespace from text
- 01
Paste the messy text
Type or paste into the input pane, or press Load sample to see the current mode's demo — each of the four modes ships a sample tuned to show exactly what it fixes. Cleaning happens as you type; there is no run button, and the result never lags more than a keystroke behind.
- 02
Choose a cleaning mode
Pick one of the four tabs: Spaces collapses repeated spaces and tabs within each line and trims the line ends, All whitespace flattens everything including line breaks into one line, Blank lines drops empty lines while leaving spacing alone, and Trim lines strips padding at line ends while preserving interior spacing. Before any of them runs, Windows-style CRLF and lone CR endings are normalized to LF.
- 03
Check the cleaned output
The result pane updates immediately under a label such as Clean text or Trimmed lines, and the status line confirms a Valid local result. Switch modes to compare treatments of the same text — the input is never modified, so all four interpretations of the same paste stay one click apart.
- 04
Copy or download the result
Press Copy result to place the cleaned text on the clipboard, or Download .txt to save it as toolars-clean-text.txt. Press Clear to empty both panes; since processing is local, clearing the workspace is also what discards the text.
