How to add a watermark to a PDF
- 01
Choose one PDF
Select Choose one PDF and open a document of up to 30 MiB with at most 500 pages. The file opens inside this tab; nothing is uploaded, and neither is the watermark image you add later.
- 02
Pick the watermark type
Choose Text for a short phrase or Image for a PNG/JPEG logo. Text fonts load from this site only when needed; choose the appropriate CJK letterforms for Chinese, Japanese or Korean. Your document and watermark stay in the browser.
- 03
Design the mark
For text, enter the phrase in Watermark text and set the Font size to 24, 36, 48, 64 or 96 (default 48) and the Rotation, which offers 0, 30, 45, 90, 180, 270, and 315 degrees. For an image, use Choose a PNG or JPEG image (up to 20 MiB) and set its Scale as a share of the page width from 5% to 100% (default 25%). Both kinds take an Opacity from 5% to 100% (default 35%).
- 04
Choose the layout and pages
Choose Centered for one mark per page or Tiled for a repeating pattern. Apply to all pages, or select page numbers and ranges such as 2-6 to skip the cover of a six-page PDF. Repeated page numbers are stamped once; unselected pages receive no watermark.
- 05
Apply and download
Press Apply watermark and save the stamped document from the result panel, which reports how many pages were watermarked and with which kind of mark. The download keeps your file name with -watermarked appended, and the original on disk is never modified.
